Two sheep were found dead in the Berchtesgaden region on May 15. The first findings, according to which a wolf would have torn the animals, have now been refuted.
A brown bear was hit and killed by a train on a railway line near Schwarzach in the Austrian province of Salzburg at the beginning of last week. There had already been several bear sightings in the border area between Bavaria and Austria, most recently in Großgmain and Grödig.
