Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie will run for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024.

Christie came in sixth place in the New Hampshire primary in 2016. Christie has become one of Donald Trump's harshest critics. The former governor is expected to announce his candidacy in New Jersey on Tuesday. He has previously said that he did not recognize his defeat in the 2016 presidential election to Joe Biden and spread unfounded claims about voter fraud in New Hampshire. The New Jersey Republican Party has not confirmed that Christie will be running for president.
