Italian director Paolo Taviani died in a Rome clinic aged 92 Thursday after a short illness. Taviani brothers won the Palmed'Or for cult classic Padre Padrone in 1977 and the Grand Prixdu Jury for La notte di San Lorenzo (The Night of the ShootingStars) in 1982.
In 2012 they won the Golden Bear at the Berlin InternationalFilm Festival with Caesar Must Die. Paolo dies in the arms of his wife Lina Nerli and his children Ermanno and Valentina.
