Citroën is bringing back from oblivion the name “Basalt’ used in the 1970s for a limited series of the GS. This time, it is a special version but an entirely new car which marks the acceleration of the brand's offensive on emerging markets.

Basalt will thus be marketed this year in India and South America; Basalt is not intended to invest in the European market. The robustness of this SUV is expressed through wheel arches highlighted with a black plastic trim, front and rear bumpers.
