The judicial investigation into the collapse of buildings on rue de Tivoli in Marseille saw its scope expanded. The investigating judges are now seized of acts of destruction, damage, involuntary deterioration by explosion or fire.

This is in addition to a previous judicial investigation opened on April 29 for acts of homicide and involuntary injuries. Until now, only the families of the deceased victims had been able to file a civil claim against the collapsed buildings in the district of Marseille. The extension of referral allows investigating judges to receive as civil parties plaintiffs who have suffered material damage.
