Argentina's interannual inflation reached 254.2% in January. The country closed 2023 with a year-on-year inflation of 211.4%.

It is estimated that four out of every ten people in the country live in poverty. Lines at soup kitchens in Villa Fiorito, in the suburbs of Buenos Aires, have become a common sight as inflation rises in Argentina. The new inflation figures for the country will be published on Wednesday, which represents a slowdown of almost five points compared to December.
