Strasbourg public prosecutor's office opened a judicial investigation on February 2 for "rape committed on a minor aged 15 by an adult with an age difference of at least 5 years" Lina, then aged 13, accused two adult men of having abused her during an afternoon with friends. The investigation carried out at the time did not sufficiently characterize the facts.
The two men had admitted to sexual relations while affirming that they were consensual relations. “There is no other choice than to keep hope, that’s what makes me get up every morning,” explained Lina's mother.
