The forest and peat bog fire near Göldenitz and Teschow south of Rostock was brought under control on Tuesday evening. There are no more open flames, said a district spokeswoman for the German Press Agency around 21:30 p.m.

The approximately 300 emergency personnel in the course of the day would now be sent home for the most part, it said. The fire watch of 20 to 30 forces looks for embers and fights them if any are discovered. It is not known how the fire started.
