Defense demands suspended sentence in Aurubis trial. Six defendants are said to have stolen silver and gold worth a total of eleven million euros.

Four of the six defendants had already made confessions in the regional court in mid-January. The verdict is due to come on Friday in the case of extensive raw silver thefts from the Hamburg copper manufacturer Aurubis. A large part of the stolen goods was sent to metal processing companies in the Turkish metropolis of Istanbul for analysis and further use, it was said.
