Third graders from the Geretsried elementary school on Isardamm visited the fire department for early fire safety education. The volunteers open their doors to third graders about a dozen times a year.
Firefighter Manuela Palik, mother of two, is an experienced contact person for class 3b. Palik shows the young guests the individual pieces of equipment and explains the five W-questions (Who? Where? What? How many affected? Waiting for questions) “Keep calm, close the window or door if possible, and if there are siblings there, take them outside with you,” she says.
