The European Commission has investigated allegations that Apple blocked apps from informing iPhone users of cheaper alternatives to access music subscriptions outside the App Store. The investigation began with a 2019 Spotify complaint. The EU Antitrust is about to sanction Apple with a record fine for the 'big tech' sector and in the order of 500 million euros.
