European Parliament to debate Salis case on Monday - Politics. Ilaria Salis, a 39-year-old Italian school teacher and anti-Fascist activist on trial in Hungary for allegedly attacking two Hungarian neo-Nazis almost a year ago.
Footage this week of Salis with her hands and feet chained and held on a lead by a police officer during a court hearing in Budapest has caused a public outcry in Italy. Salis's father Roberto, meanwhile, had a meeting in Milan with Senate Speaker Ignazio La Russa on Friday.
