Olegario Ramón, former mayor of Ponferrada (León), was attacked this Thursday afternoon in the town when he was leaving the socialist headquarters. The attack was carried out by two men who were demonstrating in front of the municipal PSOE meeting place.

The individuals insulted him, shook him, punched him and kicked him several times before being identified by the Police. “They are a group of far-rightists, they have been there every day. We try not to get involved in provocations so that there is no mess, but today it happened," laments the affected person, who calls for "calm" to avoid scenes like these. "I am very worried, I have three children and I think about them and the path we have taken since Trumpism triumphed and has spread," says the politician, who suffered minor injuries. The central PSOE has condemned the attack on social networks. The section of Castilla y León, the first of the PP and Vox coalition, has joined this defense of his colleague and shown its rejection.
