Fire brigade rescues people from burning house in Erkrath. Several people took refuge on balconies at the front and back of the building.
At the back, flames were reportedly coming from an apartment on the second floor and threatening to spread to the third floor. More than 70 emergency services were on site. A total of 14 residents were spotted. According to the fire department, eight residents were accommodated in a hotel. One person was taken to hospital with smoke poisoning. The affected apartment burned down completely.
