Fire protection even before the first spray: Schliersee fire department is 150 years old. The first fire engine was made by a bell founder in Augsburg as early as 1739.

In 1864, the community also bought such an extinguishing device - and even partly on credit. In 1901, the citizens of Westenhofen founded their own fire department. In 1931, motorization arrived: initially the people of Schlierse received a motorized sprayer. After the war, a Spitzingsee fire-fighting group was founded among the emergency services.
