First detection in the Fürstenfeldbruck district: Asian tiger mosquito confirmed in Gröbenzell. The mosquito, which originally comes from Southeast Asia, can transmit pathogens in these latitudes.

There is no health risk in this country: The transmission of tropical diseases is currently considered very unlikely because the climatic conditions do not (yet) exist. Tiger mosquitoes only lay their eggs in standing water - the smallest amounts in flower saucers, bird baths or clogged gutters and watering cans are enough.
