Bordeaux is increasingly exposed to the risk of flooding and flooding of the Garonne. The community is restoring the natural environments of waterways and maintaining a network of 80 kilometers of dikes.

The work concerns 600 linear meters in the town of Bègles. The cost of the project is estimated at around 3.5 million euros excluding tax. The reinforcement of this section of dike will make it possible to improve the protection of the population and property in the face of floods in which the floods contribute, says Bordeaux Métropole. The project aims to rebuild a low wall and reinforce the banks with riprap. It will protect around 7,000 residents and users of the sector of the metropolis from the floods of theGaronne. It is expected that the work will be completed by the end of the year, and is expected to cost around 2.2 million euros, excluding tax, according to the community’s estimates. The total length of the containment system is 3.8 kilometers, with a total cost of around 2 million euros.
