The Electoral Tribunal of the province confirmed on Friday that the elections in San Juan will be held on July 2. The Supreme Court of Justice stopped the re-election of San Juan Governor Sergio Uñac, considering that another nomination would be unconstitutional.

President Alberto Fernández said that, "once again, the Supreme Court interferes in the democratic and autonomous process of the provinces" The members of the court announced the new electoral schedule during a press conference, after the suspended elections in the gubernatorial category on May 14.
