Former Chief Justice Salim Jubran passed away at the age of 76. Retired Judge Jobran was appointed to serve as an acting judge in the Supreme Court in 2003.

He held an honorary doctorate from the University of Haifa and a Knight of the Quality of Government in the category of the Judiciary. In his last position, Jobran served as the Deputy President of the Supreme court, a position he held until his retirement in August 2017 at the Age of 70. He is survived by his wife and two children.
