Max Verstappen (Red Bull) was the fastest in the day of free practice for the Monaco Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) was second, with Carlos Sainz third and Fernando Alonso fourth.

The Dutchman covered the 3,337 meters of the track of the streets of the principality of the Côte d'Azur in one minute, twelve seconds and 462 thousandths, only 65 less than the Monegasque. The two-time champion barely took 65 thousandths from Le Clerc and 107 from SainZ, with everything open for Saturday's qualifying.
