From March 30, penalties for those who use violence at school will be tightened. It provides for a significant increase in prison sentences.
The law will not only protect teachers, but will extend to all school staff. It also provides for awareness training courses and the establishment of a national observatory on the safety of school staff which will have the task of reporting cases of violence. Finally, the National Day of education and prevention against violence against school staff is established, to be celebrated every year on 15 December.
