The statue is inspired by a photo that was taken on December 9, 2018 in Madrid. It was built with the bronze provided by the fans, mainly disused keys.
The statue is already located at the door of the club's stadium, next to that of Ángel Labruna, who is also a former player of the team. The unveiling took place in front of a crowd of thousands of fans, including former team-mates and the players of the current team, Real Madrid.
