A wind of optimism is blowing over a possible truce between Israel and Hamas before Ramadan. But negotiations are still stumbling on at least two points, confides a diplomatic source in Cairo.

These blockages concern the return of displaced Palestinians to the north of the Gaza Strip, and the end of Israeli military activities. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have taken refuge in the south after operations by the Israeli army in the north. Israel wants to prevent Hamas fighters from returning to the northern part of the enclave.
