The body of Elad Katzir, 47, was found in Khan Younes, south of the Gaza Strip. He was kidnapped on October 7 from Kibbutz Nir Oz.
His mother, also taken hostage, was released on November 24 as part of the only truce in six months of war. The body of Katzir was found during the night, according to the Israeli army. He had been held by the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad, the army said. The Israeli army said it found the body during a search of the area.
