Georgia judge drops several charges against Trump but maintains others in election interference case. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee said six of the charges in the criminal indictment must be dismissed.

But the order leaves many others intact, and the judge wrote that prosecutors could seek a new indictment on those he dismissed. The six charges in question involve asking elected officials to violate their oath of office when they took office. That includes two charges related to the phone call Trump made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, also a Republican, on January 2, 2021.
