Germany will send a new Patriot air defense system to Ukraine to help the armed forces repel increased Russian airstrikes. Ukraine has run out of missiles for the Patriot and Iris-T air defense systems.
Russia claims to have captured a Ukrainian village in the Avdiivka area of Donetsk. Ukraine does not confirm the alleged Russian conquest of Khasiv Yar, stating instead that it repelled Russian attacks on the Donetsk village. Kiev admitted that the situation on the Donbass front has "significantly deteriorated" due to Russian military pressure. Ukrainian forces are gearing up to perfect electronic warfare and technology on the front, says the commander of the armed force, Oleksandr Syrsky, through his commander-in-chief, Colonel-General Andriy Mikhaylovich Kuznetsov. The Russian Defense Ministry said that Russian soldiers had "liberated" the village of Pervomaiske, south-east of Av diivka, which the Russians captured in February. The Ukrainian Foreign Minister said Kiev is actively negotiating for two batteries of Patriot missiles and one of the Samp-T weapons system.
