The Wallerstein private hospital in the Gironde commune of Arès was not spared by the torrential rains. Its emergency, surgery and imaging departments, located on the ground floor of the buildings, were flooded.
If no patients were put in danger, they had to be evacuated to the upper floors. Only one of the four freight elevators at the health establishment was able to be put back into service this Monday. If developments permit, the emergency department should reopen this evening at 7 p.m.
