Google, generative AI discovers new places on Maps - Future Tech. Big G models cross-reference data from millions of sources.
Google says the feature will initially be available in the US, although the intention is to bring it to all major markets where the maps are present. Early access to the new feature is currently underway for Local Guides, i.e. community members who contribute to enriching Maps with reviews, information and photos. The arrival of Generative AI in Maps makes sense, given that for years Big G has transformed the platform into something more than a simple navigation tool.
