Graduate-shepherdess keeps riverbank tidy with sheep. Sandra Hofer is leading a pilot scheme by the autonomous province of Trentino to keep the local Adige River's sides neat and trim.
Sheep consolidate its banks with their weight, compacting the earth, says ANSA. "Animals have been my passion since I was a little girl. So I went back to my roots, I'm a shepherdess and I'm happy", says Hofer, who studied three years at Bolzano and two at Innsbruck.
