Houthi rebels in Yemen have been increasing attacks on ships off the coast of this country for several months. They say they are acting in solidarity with the Palestinians and against Israel and its allies in the context of the war in the Gaza Strip.
The missile caused “significant damage” to the Barbados-flagged, Liberian-owned vessel, a US official said. The crew reported at least two deaths and six injuries among its ranks and abandoned ship, the official added.
