Ben-Gurion's statue was restored and re-placed on the beach in Tel Aviv. It shows the first Prime Minister of the State of Israel performing the headstand associated with him.

The police continue to investigate the arson. Mohammed Zeid, a 34-year-old street resident, was arrested on suspicion of setting it on fire. He underwent a psychiatric examination, but later the court ordered his release from custody. "One of the city's favorite sculptures returns to make the residents happy," Mayor Ron Huldai announced.
