Marion Elskis, in the role of the combative Irmgard Litten, created an at times oppressive atmosphere using simple but impressive means. The cruelty of the Nazis was embodied by Jochen Gehle as a Gestapo officer. The audience followed the production spellbound and received long-lasting applause.
