Saint-Jory (Haute-Garonne) is a town of 7,300 inhabitants located north of Toulouse. On February 1, the former mayor, Thierry Fourcassier, was placed in pre-trial detention.
Justice suspects him of having received bribes and benefited from nearly a million euros in travel by real estate developers. The new mayor, elected in December 2023, Victor Denouvion, suspended current real estate projects on February 5 and wants to make up for the delay in public facilities.
