Henfling and Stengele are the top candidates in the election campaign. A new state parliament will be elected in Thuringia on September 1st.
According to surveys, the Greens in Thurringia have to worry about returning to parliament. In the 2019 state election, they only narrowly made it into parliament with 5.2 percent. In recent surveys they were between four and six percent. The approximately 100 delegates voted the two of them into the top two places on their state list on Saturday.
