Higher network fees: Electricity suppliers will raise prices from April. In March 2024, 82 electricity price increases were announced by regional suppliers nationwide, averaging around 6 percent.
13 suppliers have announced electricity price reductions of around 10 percent, which corresponds to around 221 euros. A private household with an average electricity consumption of 4,000 kWh currently has to pay around 1,500 euros per year for electricity. The light coalition had originally planned to subsidize network fees with a total of 5.5 billion euros. But because of the deficit in the federal budget, the federal government decided in December to cancel this plan.
