The Belarusian was carrying three Syrian migrants in his car. The 21-year-old was taken into custody on Wednesday on a court order.
The police officer who was treated with an irritant was taken to the Garmisch-Partenkirchen Clinic. The Belarusian is now incarcerated in the Munich-Stadelheim correctional facility. The Syrians were taken to a refugee reception center in Munich. According to them, they had to pay a total of around 15,000 euros per person to be smuggled into Germany.
