Impaired behind the wheel, prevention worked in Trieste. There are 500 vehicles subjected to checks during the night time slot (from 10pm to 4am) on weekends between July and August.
30 violations for driving while intoxicated were found, 7 of which were attributable to the use of narcotic substances. The initiative was financed with an allocation of 450 thousand euros from the Department for Anti-Drug Policies of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. The project was divided into an information and discussion campaign with young people, and a part of checks by the police.
