In Italy, according to research by the Energy & Strategy Observatory of the Milan Polytechnic, there are around 85 collective self-consumption configurations. The objective is to reach at least 15,000 energy communities with a significant impact in terms of environmental benefits and savings on electricity bills.
In fact, Cers represent a new entity for energy markets. In defining this new legal entity, the legislator wanted to entrust the final consumer with a central role in the energy transition. The package of measures launched leaves the consumer free to produce and sell energy independently.
