India: Woman wakes up in her coffin minutes before being cremated. As preparations were almost complete for the funeral pyre, a person in the back of the hearse noticed that the woman was waking up.
Bujji Aamma, a 52-year-old Indian woman who had been declared dead, woke up on Monday February 12. She suffered serious burns, covering 50% of her body, and was admitted to hospital to receive care. Lacking financial means to pay for her hospitalization costs, her family was forced to take her home.
