Ispra, the first mapping of the entire Italian coast begins. Unprecedented mapping will transform conservation and restoration efforts of marine ecosystems.
Using cutting-edge technology, the mapping of Posidonia oceanica and Cymodocea nodosa meadows is planned. Project also involves complete mapping of coastline up to 800 meters from the coastline towards the interior with Lidar, optical and gravimetric sensors. Ispra will then be able to create the digital Atlas of our seas.
