Joined in the war year 1943 - and has now been with the fire department for 80 years. Seasoned firefighters with 40 or 50 years of membership under their belt or honorary members like Walter Oberhuber, Richard Eckert, Emil Frick or Theo Lemmen were also amazed.
Some even stood up full of respect and admiration when the fire brigade association chairman in Markt Schwaben, Andreas Stolze, presented an award at the annual general meeting in the Stüberl.
