Wittelsbacherstrasse between Kurfürstenstrasse and Maximilianstrasse was actually supposed to be reopened to normal two-lane traffic after construction work. Parents' council of the Theresen Elementary School in Germering wanted a one-way street rule.
The CSU city council found the parents' arguments challenging. With one vote against, the decision was made to expand and renew the area into two lanes. The costs include around 465,000 euros.
