A 21-year-old man was stopped by the Loire-Atlantique gendarmes for driving at 178km/h. The man, who had a probationary license, said he justified his speed by the "pleasure of speed" The driver lost the six points he had accumulated and his license was suspended.
He received a fifth class fine (sanctioned by a fine, the actual amount of which is set by the Police Court during the judgment) and left on foot.
