No return date for Monet's "Spring" is currently planned at the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon. The 19th century frame will require restoration, the estimated time and amount of which is still to be determined.
There is no question of presenting the work with another frame for the moment, assures the museum. “Two unacceptable acts were committed yesterday. The first is the attack on a new work of art by activists who do not understand the scope of their actions. The second is its justification by Grégory Doucet who demonstrates that he doesn't understand the mission which is his,” says the mayor of Lyon.
