A "moderate" earthquake of magnitude 4 occurred Monday night in the region of Montbéliard (Doubs), near the Swiss border. The earthquake occurred around 21:15 p.m.

(local time) about fifteen km south of the Franche-Comté city and at a depth of 12 kilometers. The tremors were mainly felt in the regions of Mont béliards and Belfort, as well as in Alsace and the Vosges. On 22 March, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake had already occurred in the same area, 30 km from the city of Belfort.
