Mandatory service will be extended, the age of exemption from reserves will increase. The Ministry of Defense distributed the memoranda of the two bills for public comments.
"The newly created security reality requires a significant operational response to defense and the continuation of the war effort in all sectors," the explanation reads. "There is an essential operational need to increase the scope of the personnel of soldiers in regular service in the immediate period of time," according to the amendment memorandum to the Security Service Law. The law extends the maximum duration of service in reserve service each calendar year.
