The solidarity grocery store Melisa has tripled its sales area. It has helped 353 families in 2023, or 926 people, a number which increased by 15% in one year.
“Our beneficiaries are all Melunais,” says Maurice Bénitah, one of the 77 volunteers. The store is located rue du Parc, in the Plateau de Corbeil district, in Paris' Plateau des Princes. It is a self-service food store, with plastic shopping bags, a refrigerated section for fresh products.
