Textured cottons, like dobby microweaving, were a first response. The mottled effect on the surface better conceals color aging. The other solution is to pre-wash or even bleach the clothes, selling them already “broken”, covered with white wrinkles. This bleached aspect inherent to the material contributes to this wrinkled aesthetic that has become trendy.
