Moosburg aid organization Navis is looking for an alliance with the fire department. Around 3,500 volunteer firefighters serve in the Freising district and are involved in firefighting and technical assistance on a voluntary basis.
Navis was created after the relief operation in Sri Lanka after the tsunami in December 2004. There are plans for Navis and the fire departments to also work together in the district's disaster protection, for example in the drinking water treatment sector. The association is happy to offer training and education so that the helpers are equipped to use the special emergency equipment from Navis.
