Mud sweeps through Naples streets after heavy rainfall. The affected streets were Via Solimena and Via Morghen in the hilly Vomero district.
A huge sinkhole opened up on February 21, swallowing a tree and two cars including one moving vehicle with two young men inside. Naples Mayor Gaetano Manfredi said the problems that the southern city has "a sewer system that has not had maintenance for many years" The city is implementing a project for the continuous monitoring of the sewer-and-water network.
